2-D Digital Art: Digital paintings and photographs.
I received a BFA - Studio Art in 1987 from Texas Tech University. My major emphasis was in
photography with a minor in painting. Art and photographic history have played an important role in how I have approached photography as a method of expression and personal documentation.
I enjoy a variety of subjects related to nature, beauty, colors and compositions, and work with black & white and color photography. I like to focus in on everyday items with additional interests in mechanical and structured content, cameras and tools, and photo negatives. I work with digital and scanned images, and use various graphic software filters to distort, expand, or enhance an image. As a whole, photography and painting are an important outlet for my artistic interests and continue to be a motivating factor for constantly challenging my train of thought, perceptions, and creative goals.
