2-D Digital Art: Digital paintings and photography.
I received a BFA - Studio Art in 1987 from Texas Tech University. My major emphasis was in
photography with a minor in painting.
Art and photographic history have played an important role in how I have approached photography as a method of expression and personal reflection.
I work with color and black and white images, and am interested in studying mechanical content, cameras, tools and antiques. I like to focus on a variety of subjects such as boats and water scenes, pets and animals, landscape scenes, and plant life, as well as explore photo negatives as a subject matter.
It is enjoyable to work with digital and scanned images while incorporating a variety of graphic software tools to add textures, distort or expand a composition, or apply different painting styles to an image.
As a whole, photography and painting are an important outlet for my artistic interests and continue to be a motivating factor to constantly challenge my thoughts, perceptions, and creative goals.
